We first began brewing Oakspire in 2018 as a special release around the Holidays and it has since become a fan favorite. In 2022, we're thrilled to partner with Four Roses Distillery again, known for their smooth, fruit forward and slightly spicy bourbons. Oakspire features a custom-built, proprietary infusion method to pull the flavors from the bourbon-steeped charred oak and marries it with a malty-sweet, deep amber ale.

Six pack from my neighborhood grocery store - I’ve had the earlier iterations of this beer, but never rated them, so I don’t remember what I thought - there’s a fine line between subtle and bland, and this beer kinda falls on the later side - overall impression is of watered-down bourbon - some vanilla oak character and a light spiciness - a touch of caramelized sugars - opens up a bit as it warns, adding a bit more spiciness to the mix - meh - I think I’ll pour some actual bourbon into it to see if it improves.
