Our collaboration with Neon Raptor is a rich and decadent imperial stout to cheer us up as we step into the colder months!
Made with a bundle of the tastiest malts and a bountiful load of cacao husks in the mash with a sprinkling of lactose to up the sweetness and increase the body of this luscious, chocolatey smooth and chewy imperial stout. We circulated the finished beer through even more cacao husks and a choc-load more cacao nibs resulting in hugely chocolatey stout backed up with peanut and banana flavour making for a robust, sweet and roasty beer balanced between desert beer fun but countered with a malty and complex classic stout.

Tap at the brewery tap Birmingham. A reddy mahogany brown coloured pour with a fine lihjt tan head. Aroma is cascara. Brown sugars, banana split, sticky brown sugars. Flavour is composed of sticky bamama split, banana caramel, brown sugars, mellow peanut. Hint of chocolate. Palate is semi sweet Sticky, mellow carbonation. Good fun.

PKG 26/09/22. Black, little bit of tan head. Smells sweet, banana aroma, some roast. Body is a tad thin with some sharp carbonation. Fairly dry with quite a lot of bitterness, roasty. Tiny bit of peanut, only a whiff of banana. Quite disappointing.

Black with a thin, creamy, beige head. Aroma true to the additives with mild banana and peanut butter. Taste is moderate sweet, full of green banana and peanut butter cup. Finishes with a lingering peanut butter sweetness that feels a bit artificial. Body to the full side of medium, mild carbonation. Not unpleasant.

Keg at the Snow Hill tap. Aroma has cocoa and peanut butter. Sweet banana? finish. Dark. Thin beige head retreats to the rim. Sweet banana sweets and butter cocoa. Not so much peanut butter. Medium bodied. Creamy. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long bitter finish. Enjoyable.

Can from my Beyond Beer Advent Calendar Beer Geek Edition not sure what day this was from but about 10 days ago maybe. I had this Friday 23rd December 2022, Langdorf, Bayern National Forest we had a fantastic Pistachio and Chicken Curry, listening to Afrodeutscha on 6Music. Pours black with a tan head. Some coffee and peanut showing on the nose, nutty and chocolate in the mouth however the banana is something of a shrinking violet here. All told the description suggests a big, bold beer but it's a little bit restrained and for me is found wanting. Fine but easily bettered by others.

Can from the Beyond Beer advent calendar, a couple of days back. Drink in front of a warm fire before watching something projector-ized, either Rings of Power or Titans (flip a coin for Amazon or Netflix). Dark black, with a small brown head. Nose definitely has a lot of peanut character, roasted nutty coffee and chocolate, a hint of 'nanner too. The flavor is really well blended, the peanut and banana are pretty subdued and the effect doesn't seem too artificial (I wonder if it's real peanuts and bananas). Big body, a bit sweet but not overly so. Very tasty pastry I must say.
