Herber, behäbig hefiger Beginn. Die Hefigkeit ist dunkel und lässt lange Zeit die Bitterkeit regieren bevor sie im Abgang fester wird, im Hintergrund durch das Wegfallen der Bitterkeit weicher. 9/8/8/8/11/8

Draught at the braugasthöfen
Cloudy golden color. Weizen aroma, with the classic spices and some banana, mild and a bit metallic, with some yeast. The body is quite weak, the mouthfeel is also impacted by a high carbonation level; it’s dry, with just hints of wheat and spicy yeast, and a bit more evident banana. The bitterness is correct. Easy.

Bottle: Deep golden with an orangey sheen, cloudy, small foamy layer; moderate to solid ripe (bananas) and fruity nose, backed by faint traces of yeast and wheat; moderate sweet-sourish flavour, almost medium bodied and a bit fizzy; lingering sweet (bananas) and sourish-wheaty finish. Solid, moreish Weizen.....

bottle from Bierzwerg. Cloudy pale yellow, lareg white head. Malty, slightly yeasty with a wheaty character. Not too fruity, perhaps a shy touch of banana and tropical fruit. Good.

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Hazy orangeish golden colour with mediumsized foamy white head. Aroma is toffee, wheat, spices, mild yeasty and spicy notes as well. Just about a perfect aroma for a Hefeweizen imho. Flavour is toffee, citrus fruits, spices, yeast, wheat and also some slight breadyness. Beautyfully balanced, not too sweet and quite bodied. Carbonation is a bit strong and crispy, but otherwise really good.

(bottle) Cloudy, orange colour with a big and slightly off-white foamy head. Yeasty and distinctively citrus- and lemon-fruity aroma with wheaty notes, a tinge of cara-malty and slightly soapy phenolic spices, reminding me of coriander. Slightly sweet and sour flavour, light to medium bodied with a rather calm carbonation for a Weizen. Wheat and slightly cara-malty taste with lemony fruity and moderately spicy notes; sweet and slightly sour wheaty finish with mildly phenolic spices and shades of banana in the aftertaste. Solid. 17.XII.10
