Can to snifter.
Appearance: dark brown close to black color with a finger and a half's worth of tan foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: big dark malts with the vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon and allspice up front then a low key character of sweet pumpkin, some milk chocolate in the aroma as well
Flavor: seems to be about on the same level as the aroma - sweet with a rounded out woody spicy tone for accompaniment, light aftertaste of milk chocolate, vanilla and cinnamon
Texture: medium bodied, good sipper, some smoothness along the tongue, finishes with milk chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon and came across somewhat dry
Overall: a very nicely done imperial pastry stout even if the pumpkin was really far down in there.

Canned July 23, 2023, drunk 4/12/24. A bit syrupy, dark, not sure of clarity. Thin bubbles instantly to ring. Fruity, lightly charred, lots of raisins and prunes with light pumpkin and light spice. Not over roasted or astringent from the spice. I assume it's going to be punishing sweet in flavor. Not so, though it's on the sweeter side. But there's a juicy grape, light char and earth, with pumpkin and cinnamon, prune and vanilla. Malty, reasonably attenuated, strong. For a non-BA imperial this is pretty well-done, though it's still very sweet and strong (though not raw or hot).

Pumpkin, nutmeg, vanilla, chocolate malt, hay, and alcohol aroma. Oil black with small brown head. Very sweet vanilla, nutmeg, chocolate malt, and strong bitter/astrigent fresh hay and alcohol flavor. Good body. Boozy finish.

Pour is a motor oil black with a small tan head. Aroma is a minor spice, bitter bakers chocolate and alcohol. Flavor is vanilla, cinnamon and chewy chocolate malt. This beer is super thick and heavy. Very rich and filling. A little alcohol is felt after the swallow. The spices were there but not as impressive as some other Impy pumpkin stouts. Solid but not stellar.

Can (10/5/22) pour shared by Steve. It's an opaque, inky black with light brown ring of head. Aroma is strong nutmeg and pumpkin spice, vanilla, cinnamon. Taste is even stronger pumpkin spice, nutmeg over vanilla and late cinnamon. Mouthfeel is full bodied with thick texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, strong, identifiable adjuncts so a nice fall beer but am missing the base stout. Not much to distinguish this from a winter warmer. Perhaps admirable, perhaps a failure? Alcohol hidden.

Can @ Broadway Dive Bar, Manhattan. Pours opaque dark brown with a spongy chocolate-colored head, mocha-pumpkin aroma, low carbonation, sweetish pumpkin-mocha-rum taste, faint cinnamon-nutmeg, smooth somewhat thick body, long bitter mocha finish. Interesting flavor profile, and very drinkable.
