Bottled. A dark amber beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel and pumpernickel bread. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of caramel and pumpernickle bread as well as lighter notes of alcohol.

(Bottle 50 cl) Clear, warm, orangey brown with a small, off-white head. Lightly sweet aroma of caramel., flowers, rye bread and alcohol. Medium body, sweetish roasted malt, a little caramel and a soft, discreet bitterness. Decent alright, but not a great Bock. 170108

(swing top bottle) Clear, mahogany colour with a medium-sized, light-beige foamy head. Moderately sweet and toasted malt aroma with dried fruits and light hoppy notes. Medium-sweet flavour, medium body and carbonation. Slightly roasted malty taste with a touch of caramel and a fruity tinge; sweet, slightly bitter finish with fruity-malty components. Just a souped up version of their Dunkel.

Ansprechend, oberes Mittelfeld. Test vom 13.1.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,10,11,13,11,12 - 11,35

Bügelverschlußflasche: Dark amber coloured, small foamy off-white layer, quickly diminishing; sweet (dark-)malty nose with illusions of milk-coffee and with a fruity touch (raisins); sweet (roat-malty) flavour with some bitter edges; sweet-fruity (raisins) finish with a delicate maltiness and a delicate hoppy aftertaste; well hidden alcohol. Relatively well drinkable Bock, but a bit too much on the sweet side.....

Bottle. Deep reddish brown colour. Semi-stable head. Dusty flavour, roasted maltiness. Aftertaste is also dusty, and turns a little acidic. Could have done without the acidity, but otherwise a nice bock.

Dark amber to brown color. Very light aroma. Not impressive flavor, but quite balanced: malt, a touch of roasted malt, caramel, very light smoked malt… Pleasant.
