Winter warmer comes from England and the tradition of serving a little stronger beer during the winter to warm up the frozen guests. This strong, juicy and strong Christmas beer is this year spiced with cinnamon and vanilla.

"Enjoy this beer after all the hustle and bustle of winter, preferably in peace and quiet in front of the fire. Winter spices give more flavor!"
Daniel Granath, brewmaster

330ml bottle. Clear, chestnut colour with ruby shimmer and small to average, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Rather weak, slightly toasty, biscuity, caramel malty, minimally nutty and spicy aroma, hints of cinnamon biscuits, very weak fruity overtones with a touch of cherry. Taste is sweet-ish, slightly toasty, minimally nutty, caramel malty, minimally earthy-woody, spicy and zesty fruity, hints of caramel, a touch of cinnamon, bark, a bitter, zesty touch of orange peel.
Minimally oily, watery texture, smooth, simultaneously slightly dry palate, medium, scattered, mildly prickly carbonation.
A bit disharmonious, imbalanced, earthy, quite cautious as well - disappointing.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear, reddish brown with a creamy and lacing, beige head. Slightly spicy nose, if you sniff deep enough you can sense the cinnamon. Rich, malty somewhat caramelly with faint cinnamon notes. Subdued bitterness but indeed some warming alcohol. 201125

Ok

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Spicy aroma with anise, brown malt, caramel, sugary orange. Flavour is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Medium. Spicy but appropriate, relative bitterness is nice and offers some balance.

Poppels 2024 Winter Warmer, Fläschchen von Töpper, Moabit. - Dunkles Rotbraun, klar. Prima! (19.12.2024.)

330ml bottle. Opalescent, dark brown colour with ruby shimmer and small to average, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, dark beige head. Sweet-ish, herbal-spicy fruity and malty aroma, notes of caramel, cardamom, apricot, a touch of raisin and plum. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel malty, fruity and slightly herbal-spicy, notes of caramel, some toffee, apricot, plum, raisin, a touch of cardamom, minimally soapy overtones; a very weak, minimally warming, alcoholic touch in the finish. Minimally viscous texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, medium to fine, dense, mildly prickly carbonation. Nice, balanced and harmonious composition, adequate sweetness - nice, not too complex sipper.
