Ratebeer Odense Lager After Easter Tasting. Amber with a lasting off-white head. Malty aroma with toffee and nuts. Sweetish malty flavour with grassy hops and a quite bitter finish. Hints of dusty, damp cellar way in the background.

50cl Bottle @ Franken. Served @ Ratebeer Odense Spring Tasting, 2023. Pours amber copper with a small white head. Bready malts, rye, a touch of dried fruit. Medium bodied. Soft. Quite bitter finish.

500 ml bottle. Cloudy brown with a fluffy head. Nuts, malt, yeast, roasted bread, breadcrumbs, citrus, some mild coffee. Mild dry hoppy bitterness, malty nutty yeasty sweetness. Medium to full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry malty finish. First sips were weird, but grew on me. Not bad.

Bottle picked up at Sulzbergerbierhaus, Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm and consumed at home Thursday 2nd February 2023, I think that Loz is cooking us a Cabbage Pie this evening, we will probably listen to 6 Music with Steve Lamaq, but currently I am in the office. Pours amber, there is some sediment in suspension with an off white head. Lightly bitter and fruity with toffee and caramel, soft mouthfeel, medium body. Ok but not really exciting me.

Fläschla: Hazy, floaties visible, copper coloured, small creamy off-white foamy layer, dryish bitter-sweet toasty and malty-fruity nose, mild herbal bitterness underneath; mild to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied, a bit sticky and soft; shorter bitter and malty-sweet finish. O.K. ! Presumably contract brewed by Rittmayer/Hallerndorf, because it is hard to imagine, that such a creative brewery (Hertl) can brew simple and tasty franconian Lagers...
