500ml bottle picked up at the tourist info in Wittenberg last summer. Very nice appearance with a deep rosewood coloured body under a firm beige head. Fair lacing. Sweet dark malty smell, slightly roasted. Sweet flavours as well, moments of caramel and prunes. Sweet ending with distant roastiness. Way to sweet for a better score. (Shared at a rating session with djoeye and Finn, Tromsø 23.03.2017).

Süßlicher, später deutlich steigend süßes Aroma. Diese wirkt spätestens dann künstlich, wenig würzig, hinter der Süße bleiben einige Aromen zurück. Minimale Herbe, kaum röstig. Schade. 10/8/7/6/7/7

Bottle from bierpost.com. Pours dark brown with a burgundy tint, and a tan colour head. Aroma of sweet malts, hint of chocolate and dark fruit. Very sweet with little by way of bitterness. Medium body, texture is sticky. Wasn’t expecting it to be this sweet.

Bottle: Deep amber coloured, presumably clear, slowly collapsing off-white head; sweet nose of toasted and burnt malt; moderate to solid sweet flavour, sticky MF, nevertheless light bodied; short and sticky sweet finish. Too uniforme, too sweet…

500ml bottle. Clear, darkest brwon colour with ruby red glimmer and average, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white to beige head. Dubious aroma, hints of dark malt, grain, pumpernickel, treacle, malt lozenge, a cautious touch of Mettwurst. Taste is artificially sweet, sugary, hints of rock sugar, artificial sweetener, pumpernickel, treacle: luckily not that sticky. Another example of that strange East German Porter interpretation

(bottle) Dark brown colour with a beige and firm medium-sized foamy head. Discreet aroma: slightly sugary and mouldy malty aroma with shy hints of cacao. Sweet flavour, light bodied with a soft, almost tame carbonation. Taste like a German malt beverage with syrupy dark malty notes; slim and sweetish malty finish with vaguely toasty accents and shades of alcohol. Some kind of “Nährbier” but with more alcohol. 07.IX.14
