500ml bottle from Scottish Real Ale Shop near Callander - deep russet body with a solid white head. Big caramel malty character all through, fruity malt loaf taste and a chewy mouthfeel.

Bottle from Lid, Inverurie. It pours clear deep red - brown with a frothy off - white head. The aroma is nutty, mellow smokey embers, bonfire, pipe tobacco, brown bread, malt loaf, dried fruits, fruit cake and toffee. The taste is dry, toasty grain, bitter - sweet, brown bread, malt loaf, dried fruits, raisin, sultana, berry, fruit cake, butterscotch toffee, cola, hint of smoke, earthy and oak bonfire with a toasty, warming finish. Medium+ body and fine, prickly carbonation. Quite interesting stuff. Nice depth and balance. This delivers a lot, especially at the Lidl price point.

Djupt kopparröd och klar vätska med off white tjock skumkrona. Kakig arom med lätt degighet och karamell. Rejäl maltig kropp med antydan av choklad och lättrostad kaffeböna. Mer karamell och lite gräsig och örtig beska.
