Means “to shine or glow” in German. Deep golden in color with a white frothy head, this lightly smoked lager expresses aromas of cherrywood and light mesquite with a gently spicy and floral hop character. The body is malty and full, and the finish is dry.

Can to becher glass.
Appearance: golden copper color with some transparency and a two and a half fingers of white foamy head which dissipated nicely and left some light messy lace
Aroma: soft clean campfire sweet smoke, subtle ham but seems to get fainter with more sips; slight honey then some floral tones
Flavor: melds the prior noted aromas but leaves out that ham note to a sweet smoky to floral sweet quality; finishes campfire smoky sweet
Texture: light to medium bodied; sessionable; great amount of smoothness and rolls greatly along the tongue
Overall: very nicely smoked beer very worthy of returning to.

On tap at As Is NYC, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has a nice gentle campfire smoke character, with a thin biscuity malt base. Flavour is nicely smoky, with campfire smokiness and crisp biscuity malt. Nice dry smokiness character. Solid.
