Dark with reddish tones and an off-white head with a rocky foam standing above the rim of the glass; as you bring it to your nose, you feel like you are eating a bar of chocolate in a smokehouse, full and rich with generous hopping to balance the flavor of beechwood smoked bacon.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a dark brown with small beige head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong smoke, wood, cocoa, dark fruit. Medium body, smoke, wood, raisin, cocoa, light dry finish, very nice.

Somehow never had this one until now perhaps. Clean doughy backdrop for the luscious smoke tones to shine. Could certainly hang in Bamberg, a delicious and true example of the style. Unfiltered deep brown, ruby red body. Glass lacing off white head. Excellent.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear very deep amber with a light tan head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has sweet grains and smoke with a light biscuit underlying. Flavor has sweet grains and biscuit with a growing light smoke.
