330ml bottle from brewery shop - Jet black body, no head. Nose of burnt muscovado sugar, coffee, roasted malt. Taste has a sweet winey start, lots of fruit, lots of sugar. Proper taste bomb and terribly dangerously drinkable.

330mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out red wine barrels, deep roasted malt, and some burnt sugars. Flavour is very dry, with lots of bone dry woody, vinous notes, and deep roast. Bone dry, vinous, oaky and roasty. It's rather abrasive and not particularly complex, but drinks well in small amounts. Unusual but it works.

Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Barrelly nose, soft wood and slightly dank, fruity wine but it's doesn't come over as particularly Moscatel. Smooth palate, very slightly viscous and very slightly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, trace of licorice. A little dark malt cream. Rich ripe fruits coming through, kinda fruit liqueur more than Moscatel. Smooth finish, semi dry, touch of alcohol spice with it but no heat. Interesting barrel aged Impy but not one that really captures my heart. Was expecting something a little sweeter and more Moscatel but this is quality brew nonetheless.

Bottle picked up in the UK, was it Favourite Beer? Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and consumed at home Wednesday 17th November listening to Marc Riley on 6 Music, we had a great Cream of Mushroom Soup for tea. Pours black with a light tan head that swiftly shrinks. Roasty, an unusual booziness, it's a little bit red wine rather than dessert wine, some dried fruit, a touch of liquorice, this is really nice, like the boozy edge.

Bottle from the brewery. It pours darkest brown to black with a small dark tan head. The aroma is rich and intoxicating, sweet, and savoury, rich roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, loads of tangy dark fruits, jammy berry, cherry, strawberry, angel delight, black forest gateaux, fortified wine, vanilla, toasted coconut, jammy wagon wheel, jammy dodger and fruit compote. The taste is initially smooth then drys up, rich roasted malt, some bitterness, dark roast coffee, tarry, some toasted spice, crazy jammy, fruit compote, cherry, raspberry, strawberry, plum, warming alcohol, some vanilla, roasted coconut, dark chocolate, sponge cake and jammy wagon wheels with a jammy dry roasted finish. Fulsome body and fine prickly carbonation. Loving the jammy character from the Moscatel barrel aging (particularly on the aroma). Good depth and rather flavourful.

Black beer, thin brown head. Smells malty with a sweet booziness. Labour is malty too, some chocolate, dried fruit, sweet wine, a little woody in the finish. Rich, smooth, warming. Very nice.
