Bottle aged for a year and drunk on Christmas Eve, 2024. Brown with a tall, frothy, beige head. Raisins. Prunes. Cognac. Very nice aroma. Bitter with sweet, licorice undertones. Faint fruitiness. Lingering cognac. Booze well hidden. Smooth. Dry. Well balanced. Seems to have mellowed with age when compared to earlier reviews. Nice.

Bottle. It pours an unclear dark brown body under a dense, beige head. The aroma has roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, toffee, dark dried fruit and some faint spiced notes. Cookie dough and brownie. It’s full-bodied, warming and quite sweet on the palate, still feeling quite dry, especially in the finish. The flavor has roasted malts, dark chocolate and some coffee. Nuts and brownies too. Lasting finish. A bit too alcoholic this one, but nice anyway. 231125

9/IX/23 - on tap @ Wanderlust Beer Festival (Brussels), BB: n/a (2023-545) Thanks to all for sharing today’s beers!
Clear dark brown beer, creamy beige head, unstable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: very malty, grains, roasted pecans, maple syrup, oxidized, soft roast. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: a bit malty, grains, caramel, dried fruits, a bit hoppy, oxidized, some chocolate. Aftertaste: very malty, grains, bitter hops, dry, oxidized, caramel, dark chocolate, ok but not as great as I had hoped.
