Panda at home, thanks to the Wingmane, 14/03/2026.
Pitch black topped with a dirty tan head that thins over time.
Nose is coffee bean, decadent chocolate, charr, mellow barrel, molasses, toffee fudge.
Taste comprises rich roast, molasses, coffee cake, booze tunes, charr, cocoa sprinkle, bourbon bite.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a balanced rising boost.
Solid BA impy blend.

12oz bottle pours a leggy, viscous black with a ring of beige head. Nose has malt and licorice and molasses and caramel, cakey, good barrel character. Flavors all follow. Sticky, chewy, malty, licorice, caramel, cocoa. Well balanced. Hints of dried fruits. A little hot, full bodied, you feel the booze. Just off dry. Lucious to a degree.

Bottle. Thick and warming with an aroma of rich maple, coffee, caramel, fudge, roast, chocolate. Sweet. Boozy finish, full thick body. Lovely so rich.

12oz bottle, undated, drunk 10/20/22. Inky ebony, undetermined clarity with a small, burnt-tan head that immediately runs to edge then nothing. Intense chocolate and fudge, but tempered by a solid roast, with no alcohol and light date/raisin/fig. Can definitely see some maple and it feels pretty even and well-aged with no rough edges, but also no apparent barrel. Soft, intensely dense, rich and syrupy, BUT not cloying and not even all that sweet, to be honest. Wow, this is one of the more rich, syrupier beers I've had at this level of attenuation. Prune, fudge, vanilla, light bourbon and spice with hints of smoke and maple. Quite complex and I love all the dark fruits. Fruity, good acidity, intense, rich, complex, not sugary....pretty god damned incredible stuff with even the added benefit of smoke, maple and bourbon. No alcohol noted, either.
Intense coffee, hints of chocolate throughout, boozy bourbon. Great aroma of maple, though not much on the palate.

Bottle pour from the brewery in Charlton. It's an opaque black with minimal sparkle at the edges of the glass, finger-width light brown crackling head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong, decadent chocolate and maple with milder roasted malt and coffee and late dark fruit. Taste is strong maple and chocolate syrup (a bit too concentrated), late dark fruit. Mouthfeel is full bodied with thick, chewy texture, soft carbonation, mild alcohol warmth and finish as taste. Overall, intense, decadent flavors that would be nice drizzled over vanilla ice cream. I love me some sweets but a 12 oz. bottle was a bit much for one person. Less would be more.
