Dense, medium yellow head over clear amber-chestnut beer. Sweetish, caramelly nose, seems a tad oxydated, nutty, hints at cinnamon. Bit woody, lots of caramel and sweet liquorice. Very sweet, fruity sweetness too, banana. Retronasal one gets some hints of a woody bitterishness. Light to medium bodied, if quite slick "Altbier" is not a very well-defined style - if a style at all. Yet I would recommend the "Hausbrauer" from the label a thorough visit to the classical Düsseldorfer Hausbrauereien...

Bottled@Gastropub Tuulensuu, Tampere. Deep amber colour, small white head. Aroma is caramel, fruits, some toffee and mild floral notes. Flavour is fruity, floral, caramelly and toffeeish. Quite tasty, and also shows some nice toasted notes towards the finish. As it warms up it does show some grainy notes.

Bottle 500ml (Tuulensuu)
Clear amber color, small off-white head. Light breadyness, toffee and grain in the nose. Medium-bodied. Some toffee, grass, hints of alcohol. Maybe they have house flavor as this tastes a bit like their abbey dubbel :)

Bottle on the Poland stand at World Travel Market 2013, Excel Centre, London. An amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Sweet, caramel type aroma. Taste is similar, sweetish, caramel, malty. Not my cup of tea to be honest.

Bottle. Aroma: bread, caramel, not much fruity notes. Clear, copper colour, with decent head. Medium sweetness, nearly no bitterness. Too sweet for me; I remember this beer used to be better.

Bottle (from Ministerstwo Browaru, Poznan). Started very sour (unripe fruit). In the finish, the sourness was accompanied by aggressive tartness which occupied my taste buds for several minutes. Had nothing in common with a Düsseldorf Altbier though the label vaguely refered to Düsseldorf. Something must have gone completely wrong with this beer or at least with my bottle... As the other ratings are rather positive, I guess it was my bottle only. Still, I’d rather not try another one in the near future.

Bottle. Pours hazy dark amber with thick off-white head. Sweetish, bready, malty and fruity aroma. Sweet taste of malt and caramel. That’s my first altbier, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it is not quite representative of the type due to the considerable sweetness. Not bad, though.
