Named after the largest Rotterdam floating crane ship: the Bok Matador. This Kaapse variety on a Bokbier has a lot of body and a nutty character due to the use of Munich malt. The Caramalt provides a caramel taste and a slightly sweet aftertaste. Roasted and smoked malts give the beer the specific autumnal character.

Bottle from a local supermarket. Fairly rich brown malt aroma with caramel, lightly smoked malt, fruity notes, hint of berries, some dried fruits. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and light bitter. Body is medium. Pretty solid Bock, I dig the soft fruit and subtle smoke.

330ml can from Vinmonopolet Nettbutikk. Shared with Finn. Low off-white head to a deep ruby-brown body, fair lacing. Faint but distinct aromas of smoked malts, nutty. Smoked dark malty flavours added by nutty caramel. The smoked malts lingerings on to a decent finish. Likable. (Tromsø 19.12.2020).

Bottle at home. The colour is dark brown with a light beige head. Aroma of smoke, sausages, heather, nuts, bread crust and leather. Flavour of heather, bread, grass, brown sugar and smoke. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and a light bitterness. Malty with a nice smoke touch. More rauchbier in the aroma, and the smoke melts nicely with the bock in the flavour.
