In this classic wheat beer we use our own unique wheat yeast. This is a very refreshing beer with flavours of spice and citrus, a perfect summer beer.

Bottle: Poured a hazy golden color weizen with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light banana ester with some sugary wheat malt notes. Taste is also a mix of light banana ester with some good notes of bubblegum wheat malt. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Not bad though not up to par with some of the best German example.

50cl bottle at Glød. Pours slightly hazy golden with a nice white head. Yeasty aroma with fruit, malt and hints of spices. Lightly dry and yeasty finish. Quite nice, but not so hefeweizen in my opinion. Still - nice and refreshing. Bottle, batch 444. Pours a hazy, matte yellow, with a finger thick head. Aroma is sweet, with yeast and orange. Flavour is sour-ish of citrus and yeast, with a malty sweetness of honey, toffee and bread. Finishes of with a nice acidic yeast and lemony citrus.

Erfrischend fruchtiger Antrunk mit spritzuger Gefe. Vollmundig, die Bananigkeit ist angenehm herb. Später dezent bitter, weiter vollmundig und ausgewogen. Gut! 10/11/12/11//11

0.5l bottle @ Henrik, Bergen. Pours a light cloudy deep golden body with a small dense lasting white head. Aroma is sweet - almost caramel sweet with notes of hay, cloves thin yeast and some ripe banana. Medium bodied, has a oily texture and the carbonation level is medium+. Nice and refreshing wheat flavors with notes of cloves, flowers and ripe bananas. Finishes of wheaty with a orange-zest aftertaste. Nice weiz from Drammen. In some types of these german hefeweizen I get a distinct orange-soda-like flavor in the aftertaste. This is one of those. I quite like it, but if feels kinda strange to drink a hefeweizen and in the aftertaste it feels like you have been drinking a orange soda. --- Beer merged from original tick of Bavaria on 31 Oct 2011 at 00:46 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 5 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 5
