Bottle looks good, the beer in the glass dark, almost black, small head. Starts malty and a bit metallically, quite fruity from the beginning, notes of plum. Finish a bit milder, modest sweet, still fruity-malty. Not bad!

Bottle. Dark brown with a full off white head. Full aroma of tangy malt. Flavour is a bit light with a creamy roasted slant. Flavour grows as you go down the glass. Finishes creamy

swing top bottle 500ml. -at Brauhaus Wiesmühl, Engelsberg, Bavaria, Germany.
Clear cooper coloured, medium sized off-white head, roasty nose. Roasted malt, sweet caramel and nutty taste with notes of barnyard and coffee. Not so dry as I’ve expected. Good dunkel.

Test vom 21.7.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,12,11,12,11,12 - 11,50

(swing top bottle) Clear, dark amber colour with a slightly beige foamy white head of medium size. Sweet toast-malty, slightly dusty nose with a rural barnyard character, light notes of caramel and only shy traces of hops. Moderately sweet, light-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied, well-carbonated mouthfeel. Dark malty, toasty taste with a moderate note of caramel; sweet-bitter, slightly hoppy finish. Nothing special and almost mediocre, but solid enough to be pretty drinkable.

Bügelverschlußflasche (mit Dank an Jonas!) : Clear amber coloured, medium-sized off-white head, slowly diminishing; sweetish dark- and a bit roast-malty nose with a touch of molasses; moderate bitter sweet flavour, light bodied; delicate malty-caramelly finish with a bitter tail. A decent Dunkles, nothing special......
