Blue Mango Design: We created a new Belgian beer for Lidl Belgium, Merelbeke, to answer the growing consumer demand of strong beers in Europe. With our Brussels design team we started from three optional names and created a rich storytelling around them. As the Crius story of a Greek god, member of the Titans and represented by a ram figure, had the most potential we decided to go on with that brand name.

Klasse!

0,33 bottle.Lidl's Belgian. Let's see: The appearance of the bottle and label is classic, absolutely good. The beer is clean, light golden in color, with a huge, dense head with small holes. The aroma is only slightly (candy) sweet, more spicy and hoppy than the basic strong Belgian ales. (Floral, cheerful, cognac-like, becoming more intense as it warms up, better.) The rice is nicely filtered and added to the lasting head. It really looks good. The taste is also more hoppy and fruity than expected. The 8.5% is felt (especially afterwards), and also when it slides down the throat, but it is nice and silky, medium-bodied. The taste is especially delicious. I tested another Belgian strong before this, this one was even better, and they really didn't spare the hops in it. It reminds me of some kind of less carbonated triple. Let's hope it will be available (for that price), and let's hope it stays that way. I liked that!

A Lidl belgája. Lássuk: Az üveg és címke megjelenése klaszikus, teljesen jó. A sör tiszta, világos arany színű, hatalmas, tömör apró lyukú habbal. Ízre is komlósabb, gyümölcsösebb a vártnál.

Huge, very dense & fine light yellowish head, leaving textbook lace over clear golden beer, finely carbonated. White candi sugar, peppery and spicy hops and Van Steenberge yeast. Pale malts, dry hops, peppery and spicy yeast' notes. Alcohol obvious. Bit mineral, as highly ionised mineral water. Light bitter green leaves, white candi sugar; Very slick, even bit oily, medium bodied. Alcoholwarmth, very good carbonation. If this isn't another Van Steenberge (label)product, it's the best imitation. And as to its seriousness, the blurb says it all. OK, that's to be found on the internet, not quite on the label. Txs to Stef!
