Bottle from MiP, thanks! Chocolate, caramel and apple syrup in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with apple syrup and caramel. Thin. Hint of licorice. Sticky mouthfeel. Not unpleasant, but too simple.

Aus der Flasche im 2014-10 getrunken. Deutliche dunkle Schokonoten treffen auf kräftige Röstnoten. Schön ausgewogen und nicht zu bitter.

Svart med høyt beige skum. Lukter mørk sjokolade, lakris, noe trevirke og havre. Søtlig kandis, tørket frukt, mørk sjokolade, noe kaffe og lett kort bitterhet.

500 ml bottle. Dark brown, almost black body with a big, creamy, lacing beige head. Rather light aroma of dark malt and chocolate. Flavor is sweet, dark malt, chocolate, dry fruit, hint of nuts and low bitterness, still feels quite balanced for the style. Medium body with a decent sweet, slightly bitter chocolate aftertaste. Not super exiting but totally drinkable.

Bottle. Pours clear dark brown with medium but short-lived beige head. Noe of dried fruits. Aroma has roasted to burnt malts: a bit of caramel, some chocolate, licorice. Sweet as promised, but with nothing to balance: low bitterness (mostly from roasted malts) or alcohol, light bodied, a bit watery. Borderline sickly. Long sickly-sweet finish.

Pen balanse mellom porteren og sjokoladen, som gir ølet en tett og nesten oljeaktig fylde, men uten at sjokoladesmaken tas for langt ut.

Black colour, beige head. Aroma of soy sauce, yeast, hint of chocolate. Sweet flavour, chocolate sauce. Sweet finish, chocolate sauce. Not my cup of tea.
