Light gold in colour, bursting with citrus and tropical hop flavours and sensationally refreshing. The original UK Citra.

In 2009 on his annual hop sourcing visit to the USA, Oakham's Brewing Director John Bryan discovered an exceptional new hop variety - Citra. He rushed it to the UK, ensuring that Oakham Ales were the first UK brewery to brew a beer with 100% Citra hops and maintaining Oakham's reputation for pioneering innovation.

Tangy hops, bitter citrus, floral & pith tastes with a slightly soapy finish.
Way better from the Cask than bottle (obviously)

A dank and hoppy nose from a golden body, thin white head. There is a really fresh zestiness to the taste, and this is not a brand new bottle. Citrus hops featuring lemon and orange lead the way, with pepper, biscuit malt and a strong effervescence adding to the taste experience. Nice density and body for a 4.2% offering

Bottle. Clear golden body with a white head that holds well. Fine carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of lemon, soft malt and grapefruit. Flavour of orange pith and melon rind. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Light fizz. A juicy, refreshing beer with a hoppy, slightly bitter finish. Oakham are Citra masters.

Cask at The Crown, Eastbourne. Sweet and yummy pale ale from Citra that ticks the necessary boxes for a good cask pale - grippy and fruity. (February, 2025)
