Fürstentrunk was first brewed in the early 1950s by Fritz Sailer and his brewmaster Heinrich Steiner. After all the thin beers during wartime, one could finally afford a good strong beer again – noble, strong, light.
In the 1960s it was known as “Heimgehbier” – the last beer before going home.
This festive beer matures for three to four months in our dark, cool cellars. The Fürstentrunk embodies our historic founding mission by Elector Maximilian I like no other beer – and with a little imagination, the velvety taste is reminiscent of the prince’s soft robes.
Our light festival beer. Strong taste with full hop aroma, light sunny malt tones and higher original wort. An insider tip among beer connoisseurs.

Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to mug.
Appearance: clear yellow color with a three finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: floral, hay and bready whiffs intertwining nicely
Flavor: pretty much copies the aromas in a sweet sort of way; finishes crisp, smooth and malty clean
Texture: light bodied; very sessionable; very smooth along the tongue with nothing distracting; great carb level
Overall: nicely done Helles lager I would very much welcome again.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours an almost clear golden with a lacing, white head. Clean, malty nose. Medium body, sweet, pale malts quickly balanced - and more - by a solid, finishing bitterness. A hoppy Helles. 070326

Pours clear, bright yellow gold into a stein. Bright white soapy head with good retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Honey, cracker and hay aromas. Sharp with sweet straw and sourdough upfront turning to bitter earth and citrus in the dry, medium length finish. Becomes a bit cloying as it warms.

From tap at Bajor Sörház Budapest – Bavarian Beer House Budapest, 13.07.25. Clear pale straw colour. Fine white head. Fine aroma and taste of solid, and slightly sweet pilsner malt, grassy hops and succade. A good German-style lager.

A festbier I didn't recognize, sold! Stein @Grand Delancy. It was like $2 more than a 5oz pour, lol. Clear, slightly dull but ever frothy, pale lager. Straw, mildly fruity, raw grain, earthy but relatively clean nose. Saline, upfront sweetness, aspirin bitter, chewy baguette, slick texture. More of a solid Helles. Solid quaff, nothing special. Decent.
