Das naturtrübe Vollbier überzeugt durch seinen fruchtig-herben Geschmack.
Die Hefe, die in diesem Zwickelbier so richtig aufgeht, verleiht der Spezialität ihren unverwechselbar ursprünglichen Charakter. Süßlich im Antrunk, herb im Nachtrunk – das ist vollendete Freiburger Braukunst.
Nach uraltem Originalrezept von unserem Gründer Louis Ganter gebraut – mit klarem Schwarzwaldwasser und regionalen Rohstoffen. Anschließend reift das Bier in kleinen, exklusiven Mengen im Lagerkeller heran – bis es bereit ist, getrunken zu werden. Zum Wohl!

(swing top bottle, 33cl) Hazy, pale golden colour with a blond and short foamy head. Mildly grainy and slightly doughy malty aroma with subtle citric hops and yeasty spice. Slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slightly doughy pale malt character with cautious grainy spots, backed by mildly grassy and subtle fruity hops; moderately dry and slightly bitter hoppy finish. Basic Zwickel-Pils. 31.X.16

pours a cloudy dirty yellow with some sediment, steady white head and nice lacing. fresh floral aroma. flavour of grass, grains, lemon, lemon zest. some bitterness towards the finish.

330ml bottle [local-local trade with bartlebier, thanks for that]. Slightly cloudy, yellow-ish golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, snow white head. Aroma has a protein touch, hints of lemon, sweet-ish grainy background. Taste is slightly grainy, hints of protein, cautiously lemony, minimally grassy hoppy overtones, subtle pale malty sweetness. Decent. This grain-protein-yeast-lemon composition taken as a whole has resemblance to the baseline of some Belgian Saisons, though being very typical still hard to define for me, a somehow brine induced vegetable something. Definitely natural, uncontrolled and positively grungy.

33cl bottle courtesy of and shared with Tderoeck. BB 28/01/2015. Dorée sur un léger trouble, col blanc fin. Arôme est fruité, léger en houblon avec un petit côté herbacé et fruité moyen. Bouquet houblonné dans un ton noble. Palais malt pâle, assez épais sur une amertume très noble allemande. Léger citronné Hallertauer et Tettnanger. Fini fort sec, pointe levure avec ce petit ôté vert. Amertume moyenne le tout laissant un léger grincement aux dents.

Little cloudy blond beer, small fizzy aery white head, dissipates immediately, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of hay, cow fodder, bit sweet, malty, grains. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter start, little fruity, grassy hops, some grains. Aftertaste: bitter, grains, German impression, bit of citrus, grassy touch. Decent, yet not my favourite style of beer.

Hefiger, deutlich getreidiger Antrunk. Malzig werdend, das Bier ist insgesamt recht würzig. Herb bleibend, helles mildes Malz, harmonierend hopfig-bitteres Aroma. Gutes süffiges und aromatisches Bier. 10/10/10/10//10

Tap @ Brewery Garden. Hazy golden color, short head. Aroma of skunky hop, bit floral, wurzig, herbal. Decent bitterness. Nice stuff.
