Bottle @ RBESG Grand Tasting 2012. Deep black appearance with a dark brown head. Roasty, licorice, earthy, woody, chewy, candy aroma. Richly burnt, anise, dark chocolate, light smoky, rich anise flavor. Kind of a cool beer.

RBESG 12 GT, Cuso was very adamant about this being the best Slovak beer, and he went out of his way to provide us with some bottles, damn cool of him :). Anyway, it poured a black body with a brown cofee head. Coffee in the nose, mollasses, sweet and nice. A good balance between the coffee and chocolate in the taste, nicely sweet, quite dry finish. A very good Imperial stout from a very good brewery.

Bottle at Leighton’s Euro Semi-Final tasting, thanks to Leighton. It pours jet black, with a thick tan head. The nose is roasted malt, charcoal, meatiness, soy sauce and a hint of smoke. The taste is charcoal, roasted malt, dark fruit, coffee, booziness, tar, burnt tire, charcoal, smoke, soy sauce, salted caramel and a hint of tang, with a warming, dry-roasted finish. Medium-full body and moderate carbonation. Flavoursome, but quite hot.

(swing top bottle, 33cl) Black-as-coal coloured hue with a huge and brown foamy head. Roast-malty aroma with notes of chocolate, caramel, leather, berries and citric noble hops. Moderately bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a soft carbonation. Roasty and leathery malt-character with notes of dark chocolate, coffee, a whiff of smoke and present fruity notes; dry-ish, moderately roasted malty finish with notes of chocolate, fruity hops and a warming alcoholic bite. 28.V.12

Huge, dark brown-greige head, pretty stable over black beer, viscously pouring. End of bottle solid yeast. Ink, C-hops, straw or silodust, chocolate, suggesting melanoidins. Very bitter black coffee, ashes, tobacco, bitter pure chocolate. Very roasted in any case, alcohol and even fusels obvious. Again dry UK or USA hops, if less easily recognisable than in the nose. Very thick, viscous and oily; mild alcoholburn, utterly full-bodied; creamy texture. Quite good R.I.S., they could deliver in St. Petersburg! Na Zd’ravie, Peter!

bottle, thank you very much, Cuso! Deep black colour, oily consisntency, small dark beige, almost brown head. Very "dark" aroma, loads of coffee and cocoa powder. Full-bodied, coffee, freshly ground coffee beans, espresso flavours, also bitter, dark chocolate. Very faint hints of raiisn and dried fruit. Dark delight.
