Supercharged India Pale Ale.... Rich/bright & amber/bronze with lots of American hop aroma. Distinctly bittersweet on the palate with a massive hop complexity fashioned deep within the IPA tradition.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Hazy, reddy amber. Ugly, bubbly, grey head. Sweet malt, and chewy, sawn pine, resinous hop. Some toffee. Some mint. Smells great. Taste is silky, toffee sweet. Turns punchy bitter. Unctuous, chewy mouthfeel. Long, resinous, sweet licked, piny bitter finish. Good stuff.

Good usage of Centennial but oxidised. Would dig it fresh.

Cask at Indo, Whitechapel, London on 3rd July 2015. Copper with off-white lacing foam. Pungently yeasty and richly hoppy aroma. Lush blend of citric tang and grassy herb, bound with sweet malt in-mouth. Rich and intense malty and hoppy finish. Full-bodied with an engaging texture.

Keg at the Old Fountain, 14/04/15. Clear golden with a decent light beige covering. Nose is caramel malt, punchy hop ring, mango, bitter orange. Taste is mango pulp, caramel malt forward, sweet licks, honeydew melon, soft bread tones, light grapefruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough IPA.

Old Fountain. Cask. Almost clear amber beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, mild fine carbonation. Very obvious creamy caramel toffee in the malts. Floral bitterness starts mild and the ramps up. Touches of hop spice and citrus. Light semi dry finish. Very much a beer of two halves, the first sweet, the latter, bitter! I liked it!

330ml Bottle - Amber in colour. Passion fruit, lychees, grapefruit and a hint of spice in the aroma. Hoppy (but ever so slightly watery) taste with notes of mango, toffee, passion fruit and peach. Refreshing and enjoyable and whilst itโ€™s a bit thinner than I was expecting, it doesnโ€™t detract too much from what is a good beer and a real step in the right direction for this brewery.
