Bottle, as Neuschwansteiner Dark Lager. It’s a clear, light amber colored beer, with a minimal sized head on top. The aroma is weak, with caramel, some hay and a little note of fruityness. Flavorwise it’s not much more interesting, a little maltyness and caramel in the back, with fruityness up front. Not much bitterness, and also there’s some wet cardboard. Certainly not a favorite of mine. 120217

Bottle: Light amber to amber coloured, small stable off-white head with a little lace, grainy-malty nose with a slight fruity acidity; light to medium bodied, soft; slight traces of hops and caramel in the grainy finish. Not so nice…

(bottle) Clear, chestnut-brown colour with a big and tanned foamy head. Slightly nutty and discreetly toasty aroma with strawy malt. Sweet flavour, light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slim and shy toasty malty taste with nutty notes and an almost sugary malty finish with only traces of hoppy bitterness. Unconvincing. 26.XI.11

50cl bottle, flip-top. Poured dark amber with a frothy, white, lasting head. Aroma is sweet malt, some roastedness and herbs. Flavor is sweet malty, caramel malty notes, slightly grassy. Quite dull and uninteresting, expected much more.

Bottled flip-top 500ml (K-Isolinna, BB 03/2012)
Bottle for Finnish market.
Dark brown color, decent beige head. Dark bready malty, mostly metallic nose. Light to medium bodied. Slightly acicid. Dark bready malty, light caramel, some grassy hoppyness. Quite weak palate, this kind of dunkel should have a little bit higher gravity.
