This full, complex beer is an homage to one of Mike’s best known beers. At 7% ABV it’s an extremely smooth beer without cloying sweetness, but with all the roasted/chocolate/coffee flavours you’re looking for in your dark beers. Take a Dark Orbit in our space ship to Planet Delicious.

Hops: Hallertau Blanc, Saaz, Cascade

Boks fra Vinmonopolet Tromsø - Langnes. Svart. Høyt lysebrunt skum som daler sakte. Litt lacing.

Can. A dark brown, close to black, with a dense beige head of moderate size. The aroma is perhaps a bit weak, with lots of licorice along with oatmeal cookies, bread and a touch of roasted malts. It's full to medium bodied, nicely carbonated and semi-sweet, with flavors of roasted malts, coffee and lots of licorice. Long finish with roasted malts and licorice. A nice one, but I think there's too much licorice going on all the way. 181229

05.12.2018, tap @ Pingvinen:
Nice light amber bubbly-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet roasted, dark malts, roasted grain, toast, coffee, dark sugar, soil, licorice, grass, minerals. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish roasted, toast, dark sugar, sour-ish roasted grain, burnt coffee, minerals, soil, dark malts, licorice, bark, alcohol. Medium to longlasting bitterness, slightly harsh sour-ish roasted mouthfeel. Fair enough.

Thanks! Sampled draft @ Billie’s Beer Festival 2018. Day 2. Black, mocha head. Nose is roasted with sweet mocha sugar, candy. Taste is too herbal for me with some umami, bitter roast & weeds. Thick overly herbal low soy sauce body, not fully to my taste.
