It’s use of nitrogen and the gas trapping capsule aka “widget” releases nitrogen when opening the can to create a smooth mouthfeel combined with a dry but full taste. Can 500ml @ Rasmus hytte. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, cocoa and ash. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with a long roasted, chocolate and ash finish. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

44cl can from Rob the Gourmets’ Market in Brussels. F: medium, tanned, average retention. C: dark, opaque. A: roasted malts, bit caramel, chocolate, coffee, spicy, dark fruits. T: medium malty base, light roasted tones, coffee, dark bread crust, dark caramel, decent bitterness, soft carbonation, light oily mouthfeel, easy drinkable, good one, enjoyed.

Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 15B). Can 44 cl - Batch unreadable (BB: 05/25). AROMA: medium-low roasted malt notes (coffee, slight dark chocolate) with faint sweetness. APPEARANCE: very dark brown body with ruby highlights. low beige head with low retention. TASTE: medium-low roasted malt flavor (coffee, slight dark chocolate). medium bitterness with a dry and slightly roasty finish- MOUTHFEEL: medium-low body with slight creaminess. medium-low carbonation. OVERALL: a nitrogenated stout with good flavor but falls a bit short when compared with the prototype.

ABV: 4.7%. Clear dark brown colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, roasted, dark malt, light toffee, light smoke. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration, roasted - toasted, dark malt, light coffee, smoke touch, medium dry. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. Can (from Pien Webshop). Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is chocolate, black currant and some slight toasted tones. Flavour is black currnt, chocolate, roasted malts with some slight blueberries in the finish. Smooth palate. Still a bit watery as for the palate and being of it.
