The Köln area of Germany pioneered this unique style of beer, where traditionally brewed ale is cold conditioned for several weeks. The result is a crisp, clean tasting, but very flavoursome beer.

Cask gravity at Tonbridge Rugby Club. Clear gold colour lasting white head. Aroma of German hops. Some light white flower aroma. More of the same in the mouth. Clean in the mouth. Light bitterness on the finish. One of the best uk kolsch. The best UK kolsch I've had.

440ml can from Crafty Merlins, Darlington. Gluten Free. Bright golden colour, white foam head leaving lacing and aroma of malt, grains, grassy. Taste is sweetish malty, grain, tangy, grassy, straw, some bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy grassy bitter finish. Quite drinkable

Sample at RB Watford tasting (10/12/2021) - Clean crisp with notes of lemon, straw, hay, grass, light spice, sweet bready malts, light to medium body, grassy bitter finish.

Can split at the XmasKracker tasting, picked up in Bottlneck Broadstairs, Watford 10/12/21. Clear golden with a good sized white head. Nose is tangy orange, grass, grains, straw, cereals, pale malts. Taste comprises grass, lemon rind, pale malts, grains, breads, subtle herb. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid logger.

Can shared in Watford - cheers to Cloin. Pours clear gold with a frothy, white head. Lightly sweet, crispy pale grains, floral hops, straw. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with more biscuits, hay, cereal. So so.

Can shared at the watford Christmas tasting 10/12/2021. Many thanks to Colin for this one. A mostly clear golden yellow coloured pour with a sticky white head. Aroma is semi sweet, apple, nutty malts, grass, biscuit. Flavour is composed of dry earthy hay, straw, grass, grassy noble hop. Palate is dry grains, earthy, moderate carbonation m decent.
