Pour is a hazy yellow with a big frothy white head. Aroma is very spicy and yeasty. Flavor is somewhat yeasty and there is a detection of banana and cloves but not much. Overall very watery and this brings the score down. There are better hefe’s out there.

Bottle at Kookfest 06. Cloudy gold, lasting white head. Bananary lemon estery aroma. Bit of spice on the end. OK weisse but with not a lot of character.

(swing top bottle) Hazy golden colour with a giant but also collapsing rocky white foam. Sweet wheat-worty banana aroma with cloves. Initially sweet wheaty flavour and taste with the usual yeasty banana notes; light to medium bodied, subdued cloves in the sweet thinish finish. Very unspectacular and a bit too sweet Weizen.

Bottle. Lightly sweet banana and wheat malt aroma. Orange yellow color - cloudy with little head or efferverscence. A tart apple flavor initially that fades to a light banana and wheat - not a great deal of flavor or body. Pretty light and somewhat bland.

(bottle 50 cl) Greyish golden with a thick, massive head. Very classical Hefeweizen. Loads of typical fruity notes, although they don’t really unfold somehow. Decent but not exceptional wheat beer. 070205

A hazy orange beer with a fine head. The aroma is strong of wheat and rather sweet. The flavor is very wheaty and hence a little sour. A boring hefeweizen.

I became a little nervous about this one after the pour. It was cloudy, but the cloudiness was unusually clear for a hefeweizen (clear hefeweizens have a nasty habit of being stale) and the head was large, but far short of the usual tall creamy head this style of beer usually produces. The aroma was much better than what I expected to find from the looks of it, as it had a nice caramel and banana nose. The flavor was rich and creamy and was every bit what it should have been. Creamy, smooth, and filling with a nice wheat bite in the finish. It had a poor start is all, not a bad Hefeweizen considering these types of beers don’t usually travel well or last long after bottling. Mine too had the same picture but was labeled Bavarian-Weissbier.

Almost kristall-clear. Nice fruity aroma. Tasty, acidic and fruity flavour. I like this one.
