Bottle, from trade with papsoe. It pours a clear, dark golden body under a finger-thick off-white head. The aroma is malty, with a fine touch of caramel and some hops giving fruityness. There’s also some bready notes. Sweetish flavor on the malty side, slightly bready, with caramel and a gentle bitterness. Medium body. The finish is also quite sweet, I would like a tad more hoppy bitterness to balance it. A nice one though. (090206)

Bügelverschlußflasche: Clear, amber coloured, small and lacy white foamy layer. Traces of paper and metal in the delicate toasty nose; moderate sweetish-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied. In creasing bitterness in the toasty finish with a very delicate touch of cacao in the aftertaste. Drinkable, not great.....

Biggish offwhite shiny head develops big bubbles, then shrinks. Deep amber body. Sweet malty peppery aroma with caramel notes. Dry-sweet caramelly malty taste with spicy dried frui and pepper notes. Delicate, clean, and harmonic. Dry peppery buttery aftertaste with grassy notes. Nice and highly drinkable. Leaves sticky sugars on the lips. (0.5l swingtop bottle, Rewe, Leipzig.)

(swing top bottle) Clear, deep golden to amber colour with a big and cream-coloured foamy head, leaving lace-work. Moderately sweet cara-malty aroma with a tinge of sour-dough and a good dash of herbal hoppy spice. Medium-sweet flavour, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Solid cara-malty base with a tinge of bread; almost dry, sweet-bitter finish with a rounded malt and herbal hops profile. Good (05.08.08).

(6/21/08) Bottle at my hostel in Leipzig (from a trade with kappldav123. Thanks David!). Clear amber color with a medium, quickly-diminishing, white head. Aroma of malt, hints of toastiness and some light hoppiness. Sweetish flavor of malt and caramel and some nice hoppiness later with notes of grass. Medium-bodied. Nice.
