Keg at Sutton Arms, Clerkenwell, London. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a healthy beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, caramel aroma/taste. Decent porter but served way too cold here.

440ml can. Pours almost black with a big beige head. Aroma of chocolate and lightly roasted malts, dark fruit. Taste starts off sweet with chocolate malts, some dark fruit, liquorice, caramel, mild roast, gets more drying in the finish and there's some nice bitterness now. Medium-full bodied, very creamy smoothness. That's a lovely Baltic.

Tap at Mig og Ølsnedkeren. Darkest brown, brown cream. Licorice roast nose. Medium full mellow dry body. Fruity malt, nice dry roast grain, dry chewy, juicy malt and fruity hops lurking behind the salty roast front. Nice.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Burning Sky online. Pours rich cola brown with a frothy, mocha topping. Medium sweet flavour with modest roast, some earth, sweet biscuits, cocoa, mellow dark fruit accents. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Semi-sweet finish, lightly warming.
