Clear coloured golden body with a thinnish tan head. Aroma of decent malt with just about nothing else. Medium-bodied; Strong malty aroma with some spice and not much else. Medium-bodied; Strong malty flavour with some spice and a decent amount of hops with very little else. Aftertaste shows some cardboard and a bit of spice with not much else. Overall, a decent beer with a mild malty taste. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. on 03-May-2008 on 26-May-2008 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Bottle. Hazy, yellowish golden body with a white head. The aroma is a blend of malt and fruit, and that goes for the flavor too. Some bitterness as well in the flavor. The mouthfeel is almost watery. Judging from my description, it may sound as a really boring beer, but it isn’t. Ok, maybe a bit boring, but with a nice taste and quenching powers I could easily down a few if that was the choice. (Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of MaltOMeal. Slightly hazy, pale golden with a tall and lively, white head leaving some lacework. A little fruity, lightly perfumy nose with a whiff of yeast. Medium body, fresh fruity and rather yeasty. The finish is dry. Quite a refreshing beer really - the yeastiness makes it rather differet from British Golden Ales. 080408

12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a lacing white head. Light citrus peel and rice corn aroma. Flavour is mellow yeasty with a light fruity note. Dominant yeasty really with a fizzy to creamy carbonation mouthfeel. Ends medium dry fruity and yeasty.

12oz bottle pours clear pale diluted gold with weak bright white head. The aroma is light with sweet malts, pale Munich type grains and after that just noticeable floral and faint spice hops. The taste begins with an initial big floral and spice hop bitterness aided by the carbonation. As the hoppiness subsides a mild maltiness sweetness, Munich like malts and grainy malts take over the flavor experience. Into the finish the floral and spice hops well up and linger into the after taste. I get more hops in the flavor than in the nose.

Bottle. Slightly hazy gold body supports a thin and white fizzy head. Aromas are slightly grassy with a touch of boring grain. Flavor has a little bit of a grassy/peppery zest at first and then fades to a sweet and grainy finish that is pretty reminiscent of macros swill. I’m not sure that I understand the point of adding rice... can’t I get that from most macros?

Very excited to try this, I know Great D has some great brews, I even think there DPA is pretty good. Smells like any other clean pale yellow beer. Magnificent precipitant swirl in an otherwise pale yellow brew. Fine carbonation. Fizz is perfect as with most of Great Divide’s brews. Rather crisp and refreshing. Overall a very well behaved ale. There is however a slight bitter finish, that fades rather rapidly. Leaves no bad after taste.
