Aroma has roasted notes, some vegetables and caramelk. Flavour is slightly sweet with bready malt, some caramel and vegetables. Watery and quite straightforward for a schwarz. No, no, no – Laitila should keep out of dark lagers.

Aroma has nice coffee tones, ash and rye pudding. Flavour has rye pudding, licorice, coffee and bready malt. Slightly too fizzy palate. Finishes with ash and milky tones. A lot better than 2008!

Bottle. Courtesy Saxo. Frothy white fair mostly deminishing head. Red-amber colour. Light malty and hoppy aroma. No roast. Light bitter flavor. Short light bitter finish. Watery palate.

500ml bottle picked up at K-Supermarket Kamppi. Fawn coloured head, quickly disappearing. Deep, dark brown body. Plain black malts to the nose. Semi-sweet flavour of earthy dark malts along with hints of anise. Lingering aftertaste of bittering malts. Thin to medium bodied. Worth buying and drinking (hotel room, Helsinki 04.02.2011).

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Dark brown, brief head. Sweetish with clean, chewy mouthfeel. Roasty with bready malt and black currant. Toasty and grainy with salty bitterish finish.

Bottle 50cl. @ [ Ulfborg Tasting ].[ Courtesy of Maria ]. Clear medium to dark red brown color with a average to large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, molasses, caramel, nutty, syrup, chocolate notes. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20081218]

Bottled. A deep red beer with a tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes strong notes of bread and medium notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and bread as well as lighter notes of butterscotch.
