Bottle from thewolf, gusher. Dark brown color. Ginger, pear and cardemom in the aroma. Malty flavor with pear drups, wheat, hints of cardemom and caramel. The alcohol is there, but well hidden. Ginger in the aftertaste.

Courtesy of Papsoe, thank you very much. Clear dark reddish brown with a diminishing beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, dried fruit, dark sugar and spicy. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. Smooth and soft. This has aged really well. 090412

500ml bottle, batch nr. 57, bought at Barley Wine in Copenhagen earlier this year (March). Fawn coloured head slowly fading over a deep, dark, rosewood body. Short-lived lacework on the glassware. Earthy malts to the nose added by a spiced chocolate touch. Flavour matches the aroma with chocolate malts, candy sweetness, orange hops and bittering spices towards the ending. Fine yuletide feel (Tromsø, 27.12.2010).

(bottle, vintage 2007, courtesy of Papsoe) Unclear, dark brown colour with a beige and massive foamy head. Sweet and slightly sugary dark and toasted malty aroma with notes of red berries and spices (cinnamon, cloves, lemon peel), accompanied by a light alcoholic touch. Sweet flavour, full bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Toast-malty taste with fruity accents and Christmas-spices; sweet full malty and spicy finish with a moderate but warming alcoholic touch. Deserves its name. 09.IX.08

2007 bottle at Christmas 2008. Hazy dark ruby brown. Heavily spiced aroma with cardemum up front and anise, cinnamon and clove behind it, plus a cherry and cookie dough note. Dry and malty, very spiced flavour. Lingering spice finish and just a touch of hops.
