The Alchemist Beelzebub

Beelzebub

The Alchemist in Stowe, Vermont, United States 🇺🇸

  Stout - Imperial Rotating
Score
7.50
ABV: 8.0% IBU: - Ticks: 74
The intensely smooth and rich roasted flavor is complemented by the unmistakable pretence of hops.

The bitterness is held in check, preserving the flavors of dark chocolate.

This ale is aggressively dry hopped with Citra to cut through it all. Hail Santa.

2017 Vintage, can at home. Pours black, creamy, dense, long lasting dark head. Smell is hoppy ( very 'green' hops, target-like earthyness. sharp roastyness. creamy, intense hoppy layers really make this scent a pleasurefull one. Taste is intense, very full, creamy green hops, very intense, but JUST not overpowering the total beer. very roasty, creamy, bitter and roasted finish. The hoppyness in this one ( earthy hops, again, target-style ) really blasts this 'basic' imperial stout to the top in it's category. Forget about Pastry, if you want a real, classic US style imperial stout ? This should be your go-to.

Sampled at Billies 2018. Opaque pitch black color, decent sized light brown colored head. Aroma and flavor are malts, roast, heavy roast, roasted malt bitter. A little over the top perhaps, for me at least.
