Bottle @ LCRBM 2008. Loads of oak and raisin in the aroma. Very sweet, somewhat vinous flavor with bourbon, vanilla, raisin, plums, grapes and ash. Very complex, very much a sipping beer. Tasted excellent in less than ideal circumstances.

Bottle @ Ratman’s, courtesy of papsoe. Thanks bra. Pours a deep brown/black appearance with no head. Slightly tart, fruity, cherry, vinous, light chocolate, grape aroma. Quite tangy, plum, dark grape, plum, mild whiskey, vinous, fairly thin, tart flavor. Well this fucker is a bit past prime, but I don’t mind chugging a big glass of it.

Opaque black beer. Softish palate. Very tangy porter, the sourness hits you straight away. Then there is the rich malt and the undertone of molasses. Wood and bourbon come to the fore in the mid. A sour bourbon aniseed finish that leaves the taste buds tingling. Nice but just a bit too sour to be great.

Unausgereift. /8/9//8/8

Bottle, from trade with Papsoe. An oily pour producing a dark brown to black body under a minimal-sized off-white head laving some lacings. A bit weak on the nose I think, vanilla, some coffee and a little oxidation. Sweet, oaked flavor with a nice blend of chocolate, vanilla and cofffee. Some faint sour notes. Oily and full-bodied, slightly warming. Finishes pretty much as it starts. A nice beer, but sort of unusual. Can’t really deceide if I like it. 100409

750ml bottle pours a watery, opaque black with some spitty, slightly off white head. HUGE boozy aroma, a rye spiciness, bourbon, vanilla, wood, sugars. Flavor is over roasted malt, rubber bands, watered down scotch, salt water, red wine. Finish is sticky with an enveloping alcohol presence. Almost totally flat.

Bottle courtesy of CaptainCougar, thank you sir. Bright deep maroon color, no head to speak of. Aroma of marmite, sour and tart. Taste is like a non-alcoholic bourbon, vinous and rusty. Not a pleasant experience.

750 ml bottle. Black body with diminishing brown head. Aroma of malt, oak, vanilla and alcohol. Flavor is sweet and roasted malt, whisky (bourbon), oak, some peat and dry fruit with a warming alcoholic feeling. Very smooth and nice.
