If One is Good, Then Two is Better! Our Moylander Double IPA is fat and resiny, with aggressive and excessive hops swinging on on an enormous malt backbone like naughty monkeys on a vine. Double malt, double hops - do the math, it's academic. This brew has twice the things you're looking for, and it's big enough to share with the one you love. And isn't that what it's all about?

Bottled. A slightly hazy dark amber beer with a huge orangey head. The aroma has strong notes of hops and grapefruit, as well as medium notes of orangepeal and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, very spicy hops, grapefruit, earth, and alcohol, leading to a very bitter citrusy finish. The alcohol leaves a burn on the tongue.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Capital Ale House, Innsbrook, 5/7/09
Aroma: Nice pine, citrus hop nose, some bread, a little floral
Appearance: Orange/amber color, medium white head
Flavor: Really nice strong hoppy flavor, just a really good IIPA
Palate: Big mouthfeel, a bug/strong beer
Overall Impression: I really liked this one a lot, a big, powerful, great tasting DIPA. Definitely right in my wheelhouse for the kind of beers I really enjoy.

Bottle, at LCRBM 2008, ’s Hertogenbosch, Netherlands
Lightly hazy, quite clear body. Slightly off-white head. Great aroma of hops: amarillo, flowers, honey, ... Heavily bitter, lighly sweet flavour. Good balance. Quite 1 dimensional on the hops, but not exagerated.

Bottle LCRBM08. A bit hazy, deep golden coloured with a small white foamy layer. solid mix of sweet malt and extreme aromatic piney hops. Very dry and bitter flavour. Lingering - that is understood - dry hoppy and bitter finish, balanced by a subtle sweetness. Great stuff..........

Pour is a cloudy orange with no head. Aroma is piney/citrus hops. Flavor is again piney/citrus hops with a low malt profile. Alcohol is no problem and the finish is smooth and easy going down. Decent but not mind blowing for this style.

Bomber. Pours a nice orange with a fluffy, off-white head that laces a bit. Aromas are grapefruit & pineapple, with a bit of sugary sweetness underneath. Flavor is a great take on the double IPA… not overpoweringly sweet or alcoholic or unbalanced towards a hops explosion. There are plenty of citrus/pine hops to go around, but the sweetness from the malt keeps them in check and things only go a bit awry in the late aftertaste which seems to have a decidedly bitter grapefruit peel taste on every other sip or so. Still, this is very drinkable.

Bottle, 8.5% at LCRBM08. Good caramelly hop aroma and flavour. Good hoppiness, nicely cleansing bitterness.

Bottle: Poured a deep orangey color ale with a medium size foamy head with average retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of deep bitter hoppy notes with some small notes of citrus also noticeable. Taste is also a mix between some deeply bitter hops with some notes of citrus. Malt bill is buried in the mix and doesn’t play as big of a role as I was expecting. I am surprised that it wasn’t more bitter then that…

LCRBM08: 22 cL bottle, courtesy of bierkoning. Pours almost clear orange with a dense off white head. Aroma is dense wooden and pine hops. Smooth hoppy and solid malty base flavour. Smooth finish and light fruity. Solid malty too.
