On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Very dark brown to black colour. Roasty aroma and flavour, with sharpish piney hops throughout, quite bitter.

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours hazy dark copper with little beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, tropical fruits. Taste has some roasted bitterness and little sweetness. Thin to medium bodied, dry finish.

0,33 flaske fra Statens seruminstitutt i Bergen Storsenter, delt med Håkon: brunsvart med tett beige skum som varer til bunns. Inviterende aroma og nydelig smak med nybrent kaffe, mørke karamellsjokolader, grapefrukt, furunål og hint av bjørnebær. Lekkert fra ende til annen, og upåklagelig lett å helle over drøvelen.

Bottle. Clear, dark brown/amber body under a fine beige head. Pleasant aroma of dark malt with pine and hint of coffee and dark fruit. Taste is medium sweet, smooth dark malt, coffee, chocolate, pine, red fruit and balancing bitterness. Balanced body with quite long lasting aftertaste. Nice, smooth and tasty Black IPA the way I like it.

Solsletta 181222. Dark brown color with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, grapefruit. Flavor is roasted malt, coffee, grapefruit, pine, toffee, dried fruit. OK/Nice beer.

Bottle. An unclear dark brown beer with a finger-thick dark beige head leaving lacing. The aroma has quite a lot of butterscotch, with toffee, dark dried fruit and a touch of resin. It's full to medium bodied, nicely carbonated and semi-dry, with a decent bitterness. Roasted malts, toffee, coffee, dark dried fruit, hints of bonfire and resin in the flavor. Lasting finish with a good dash of toast and ash. Some butterscotch. Not what I expect from a Black IPA, sort of decent though. 221218

330ml bottle, lot 280, bought at Vinmonopolet Oslo City. Lasting beige head leaving rings of lace down the glass, near-black in the glass. Promising aromas of dried fruits and roasted dark malts. Flavoured with dark malts, dried fruits, and a piney touch, backdrop of coffee towards a roasted bitter ending. Fine depth. Pleasing. (Hotel room, Frogner, Oslo 22.11.2022).

Svart. Lavt tett skum med litt farge. Teppelacing. Lett sjokoladearoma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken sitrusfrukt, kaffe & røstet malt. Forsiktig tørr bitter avslutning.
