Stoneware swingtop bottle, as Rogue XS Dead Guy Ale, from Costco, Sacramento. The ordinary Dead Guy Ale is not a favourite of mine, but this one is much better. Mahogany colour. The aroma is okay, but not outstanding. The flavour is excellent, malty and vinous with notes of toffee and caramel, also decent hops. Pleasant warming mouthfeel.

Under the name Dead Guy XS (2015 version) at Watering Hole on tap. Clear copper with a small off-white head that lingers. Brown sugar, toffee, light oak on the nose. Lots of caramel and malt flavors with some booze. The body seems way too thin. Woody. Prefer the regular.

On tap at Tapwerks. Pours a near clear orangish amber with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of sweet grains and toffee with a bit of earthiness backing. Flavor is similar with more earthiness supported by caramel and toffee.
