From the Beer Republic Green advent calendar, Day1, drunk watching Stranger Things 5 after a TGTG pizza from Donatello. Mostly clear amber, caramel nose with citrus and a hint of bubblegum. Rather sweet, tutti-frutti with smooth bitterness. Tasty, maybe a bit sweeter than my usual preference but the big bitterness balances it nicely.

Pours mostly clear gold and smells of tropical fruit and piney hops. The hops led flavor has crisp bitterness with ample citrus and resinous hops backed by a big malt bill. It leads into a long, hoppy finish. Excellent. It seems I liked this one more than others did.

12 oz can. Golden pour with some fine particles and a white head. Citrus, pine, pale malt in the aroma. Citrus, floral, and tropical hops in the flavor, pine and pale malt. It's pretty good.

Very clear, ever-so-slightly hazy bright golden coloured body with a very nice three centimetre tall frothy off-white head that stays afloat nicely. Aroma of honey, light alcohol, hay, grass, pine and resin, with some light herbal and floral notes and some sweetness at the end of the nose. Medium-bodied; Rich, grassy and quite herbal flavours at first, with some slight medicinal and astringent alcohol and pungent bite towards the end that does show some alcohol, but also some relatively strong hop bitterness and not much sugars or malt balance. Aftertaste is dry, very strong and showing a lot of the alcohol astringency here that doesn't seem to fade at all, but does let in some stone fruit and rich, pungent fruity quality at the end. Overall, this is a deep, pungent and quite astringent throughout, with a lot of alcohol and bitterness here that seems old-school, but is just plain strong! Not one of my favourites from Great Lakes (probably one of the worst, actually!), but for this price, good to try once - the size is crazy! I sampled this 19,2 ounce TALL can, purchased from Liberty Liqours in LaVale, Maryland on 29-May-2023 for US$2,99 with a 'best by' date of 11-June-2023 and sampled at my house here in Washington on 04-July-2023, this perfect Independence Day over our fine country after watching the fireworks over our Nation's Capital with my three kids.

12 oz. can, dated 3/16/24. Citrussy hop smell as I pop the tab. Light haze with some visible floaties. A bit of resin in the nose from the glass. Taste is not a super hop bomb, but some resin and bitterness shows up after a few sips. For a 9% abv beer, the mouthfeel is kind of light, though. I do get the alcohol after a while, but it just runs a little thin.

12oz can. Pretty shabby offering from Great Lakes. Ugly can, uninspired beer. Not hazy, but still sweet and creamy tasting. Has some respectable hop tone sort of...but a little oniony, faded...and it is only a month after canning. Sweet, not as bad as a Triple IPA but headed in that direction. Not that good.

19.2 ounce can from a KwiK Trip, 7/2/23. Hazy amber, large white head, average retention. Aroma of floral, earth, dank. Some fruitiness threatens but aroma is pretty dry. Taste is melon, dank, mango, pale malt. Juicy, low bitterness, hint of booze. Solid.

Pour is a clear gold with a large white head like a pale lager. Aroma is an old school IPA with some pine and grapefruit. Flavor is more piney hops. Some alcohol and white sugar follows. This was nothing spectacular. Average and boozy at best.
