Bottle. A gorgeous looking beer, black as can be, and topped by a finger-thick tan head. Licorice, roasted malts, alcohol, peat and a hint of cooked vegetables in the aroma. The flavor has a lovely hoppyness giving bitterness too, with roasted malts, peat, salty licorice and some sweetness. Sweet, warming finish that lasts. Full-bodied and warming. Just plain lovely. 100409

250 ml bottle. Black body with a fine, dense beige head. A nice roasted malt aroma, coffee, a hint of liquorices and mild peated whisky. Flavor is sweet, dark malt, roast, chocolate, coffee, hops and whisky with peat and salt. Very long and smooth finish. A masterpiece.

Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours deep dark with full bubbly rubbly dark tan head. The aroma is full force goodness with chocolate, oak, sweet whiskey, roastiness and black strap molasses. The taste is rich with chocolate coated oak, molasses and some booziness like whiskey. It moves toward dryness with some booze and a touch of roasted malts that seems to be setting the plate for rich molasses and a solid oak table of woody goodness. Tons of fun going on here.

The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Starts very dry and strong-malty, modest sweet. Turns more and more dry, finish is woody-prickly, complex malty notes. A very good beer! Thanks to yespr for the bottle!

250ml bottle from a six pack of special beers from Amager and Mikkeller released at Ølbutikken, Cph early on Saturday 13th September 08. Pours an oily, noisy and bubbly beige-brownish head, quickly diminishing. Jet black body. Aroma of liquorice malts with some kind of peaty oak behind. Taste of chocolate fortified by sweet, dark berries and a dash of spices. Tart orange shells passing by in a lingering bitter ending. Warming and pleasant alcohol level. Full bodied (Easter joy at home in Tromsø, 09.04.2009).

Bottle at home ... from Ölbutikken six pack ... deep black ... big bubbly short lived brown head ... deep roast malt little whiskey little chocolate nose ... big foaming of the beer in the mouth ... solid deep roast ... a lot and maybe just a little too much whiskey ... little bitterness ... nice roast chocolate and coffee .. its the foaming that lets this down a bit.
