19.2 ounce can from the Richmond Rd / Franklin Rd Kwik Trip, 3/14/23. Slightly hazy orange, large tan head, average retention. Aroma of melon, tropical fruit, earth, green, bit of dank. Taste is tropical fruit, melon, dank, stone fruit, berry. Crisp. Moderate bitterness. Solid. Definitely the best “ice” beer you can get from a gas station.

19.2 oz. can (2/16/23) pour from Total Wine & More, Burlington. It's a lightly hazy dark golden yellow with light sparkle, finger-width off-white foamy head with excellent retention and fair lacing. Aroma is citrus, pine and mild florals. Taste is initial blast of tropical fruit/pineapple followed by flavor as aroma (this only occurs for first couple of sips before flavor as aroma is all I can taste) over late cracker. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation, no sign of alcohol and dry finish as taste with moderate bitterness. Overall, aside from initial flavor on first couple of sips, pretty standard DIPA.

12oz can. Definitely a legit hop feel, has some bitterness. Almost a coconut Sabro feel to me. An OK Double IPA, a little sweet and appealing to the haze crowd though whereas it could be malty or outright bitter and be better. OK.

On tap at Piece. Pours a slightly hazy burnt orange with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has has lots of citrus and sweet grains with a bit of candies rind underlying. Flavor has strong citrus and sweet grains with a candied orange note in the finish.

Aromas are resin and citrus hops with a little bit of weed and sweat. Flavors are similar to nose, sweet up front with some moderate bitter in the finish. Balanced with good carbonation. Good beer but not spectacular.

Good example of the always curious “Double Pale Ale”. Strong notes of stone fruit, papaya, mango, and mandarin, with healthy veins of pine and minerals on the back end, maybe a little Jolly Rancher? Pushes right up to the line of being too sweet, with some overripe fruit showing up in the finish, but never goes over. Nice pint.
