50 cl bottle @ Olutravintola Konttori. Rated on 13.01.2009
Aroma is rather nice with lots of hops, exotic fruits, caramel and grapefruit. Flavour is also rather hoppy with exotic fruits, grapefruit, caramel, some resin and pine needles. Very bitter finish with growing grapefruit aromas. Excellent, I love the extreme hops here

My Nøgne Ø #40 :-) Strange that I have to go abroad to find the best Nøgne Ø gems. This one was waiting for me in Sweden.
Dark brown colour with a tan head. Agressive rich complex aroma. Fruity, hoppy and malty. Not as bitter as I would expect at 100 IBU. More to the ususal DIPA/IPA sweet fruity side. Lots of malt inthis one also. And grape. Oily texture. Not for the fainthearted this one.
[Bottle (Batch 402) at Bishops Arms in Malmö, Sweden]

0.5l bottle #402 @ The Bishops Arms (Vasagatan), Stockholm. Pours a dark hazy copper body with a big bubbly and lacing just off-white head. The aroma is malty and quite sweet. You can really sense that this one has been stored for a few years! Some nice caramel and cortex leaking through here as well and hints of honey and a subtle alcohol touch. Lovely. It has a average to lively carbonation level and a really nice slick and oily mouthfeel. Flavors are dimmed down quite a lot, and considering this has been stored for 3 years it's quite understandable. Still, it has a nice caramelish and malty touch blended with some oldish hops. Actually some licorice hints in the finish on this one. Quite nice stuff, and I'm really glad I got to taste this before it got completely extinguished.

500 ml bottle. Big, fruity barley wine nose, with caramel, dried fruits (plum, fig), big and juicy. Cloudy, muddy, dark amber brown. Dry, hoppy flavor with wood, big bitterness, dry dark chocolate, pine, plum, umeboshi. Nicely dry. Good stuff. More like a barley wine.

500 mL bottle, split with Matts_Property, pours murky dark orange / amber / brown with a medium beige head. Aroma screams tropical fruits, with mango, apricot, peaches and tangerine all prevalent, along with citrus hops, grapefruit and sufficiently backed caramel malts. Flavour is quite complex for an IPA, with mango, apricot, peaches and pungent grapefruit, and heaps of citrus hops, backed by a barrage of caramel malt. Finishes on a slightly bitter, grapefruity note. Most excellent.
