Brown pour. No creamy foam. Malt flavor, with strong spice notes. Nice to drink on cold days. A nice warming beer

16 ounce can from Tavour. Chestnut brown pour has a brief beige head. Sweet roasted malt aroma has notes of toffee and baked brown bread. Rich, roasted malt flavor. Notes of dried figs, raisins and cocoa. Mildly complex with a hint of warming alcohol. Well made and flavorful.

Sample at the Herndon location pours a rootbeer brown, translucent with some clumpy beige head. Nose has raisins, carob, tootsie roll, some booze. Flavor follows, malt, raisins, dry cocoa powder, booze, a little coffee. A lot happening. Finishes full bodied, boozy, a little astringent.

From a pint can. Pours a clear dark amber with a tan head. Aromas are nutty. Flavors are a nice bitter almond with a bit of underlying sweetness. Tasty.

Can from Tavour. Clear chestnut with minimal head. Overt bready aroma follows through to a rich malt flavor. Mouthfeel is slightly thin.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear dark mahogany with a creamy tan head. Aroma of nuts, dark fruits and roasty malt. Med body at least. Flavor is the aroma plus something suggesting coffee (tho that's not really it) with some date/raisin aspects. Reasonably towards dry. Surprisingly bitter. Excellent flavor.
