We put our American style barley wine in bourbon barrels for 12 to 16 months. The intense hop character gets rounded out and complimented with the natural vanilla, coconut, and bourbon notes extracted from the barrel aging process.

Deep brown with a small tan head. Aroma is boozy fruit cake and bourbon barrel. Taste is dark fruit, fruit cake and bourbon barrel.

12oz (thx, Marc-Olivier L.!) @ 🏡 Appearance: copper with a beige head. Aroma: American oak, caramel, candies, dark fruits, raisins. Taste: very nice fruity notes, a bit creamy, moderately sweet, probably some hoppy character, but not that noticeable as in the most of American barleywines. Overall: very good one.

Bottle at the July 2023 DC RB Tasting. Poured an amber, dark caramel color, white head. Aroma was big boozy caramel, sweet malts, almost no hop character. Boozy, but tolerable as it warmed. Bourbon galore in this. Vanilla, coconut, bourbon.

Quite nice. Caramel, toffee, and tobacco. Dark brown pour with decent head. Bittersweet finish with some booze, though that is subdued. Bottle. Rating Feb 18, 2023. 2020 vintage. Pretty smooth. 12oz bottle pours a murky caramel brown with a ring of beige head. Nose is big booze caramel, malt, raisin, date, and plenty of bourbon. Flavor is sticky brown sugar and caramel, booze, Bourbon but also rum too. Chewy malt and root beer barrels. Full bodied, sticky, boozy finish.

Bottle shared in Canary Wharf - cheers to Tipple. Pours unclear golden-brown with a creamy off-white head. Good throwback barleywine, boozy, some caramel, marmalade, pale wood, crackers. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish. Tasty.

Bottle shared at the Columbus tasting 22/06/2023. Thanks to A clear amber orange coloured pourw ith a lasting loose magnolia head. Aroma is semi sweet, toffee, caramel, orange rind, cinnamon, apple, brown sugars. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, rounded, layered malts, some pine sap, toffee, oily, caramel. lovely layered malts. Palate is mediuum sweet, oily, moderate carbonation. , Archetypal.

6th Floor bottleshare with the usual suspects. Thanks to Tips. Just a light haze on this amber beer, small cream colour head Smooth palate, softish, decent fine carbonation. Soft but rich toffee laden malts, a little creamy malts. Ripe bourbon barrel fruits. A little spice on the end. Slips down easy for its 13.6% Leaves a ripe fruity bourbon linger. Dangerously drinkable but lacks the spark to be top echelon.
