Golden-brown colour with a light head. Has a somewhat fruity aroma, lots of caramel with some herbal hop accents. Light herbal hop flavour with a moderate bitterness, combined with a breadcrusty, lightly caramelly malt base. OK, could stand to be more expressive.

Nice package, flip top brown bottle. Not much aroma, just plain old clean and beery. pale brownish with streams of continuous bubbles constantly rising within. Somewhat sharp palate at first, but not lasting. Fairly mild and enjoyable. Easy to drink and easy to enjoy. Mild linger after finish.

Pour is a very murky brown with almost no head at all. Aroma is very grainy and dusty with a lot of brown sugar. Flavor is a bit weaker that the aroma but there still is a lingering mustyness with a bit of sugar and hops. An ok example of a style that is hard to find.

Nice if not the best example of kellerbier I’ve had. Bronze color with weak carbonation, minimal fizzy head, no lacing. Weak caramel aroma, with a touch of spicy hops. Flavor featured a more prominent spicy hop, with a tight line of caramel down the middle of the palate. Finish was a nice long spicy bitterness. Lightish palate that was somewhat flat.

Clear ruby brown body with a medium frothy white head. Sweet molassas and corn aroma. Thin light caramel and molassas flavor. Somewhat harsh aftertaste.

Bottle (one of those great ones with the ceramic stopper on top.) Pour is a light brown color that I don’t think I’ve seen in a beer before. Aromas are of roasted oats with a very sweet background. At the same time it has kind of a funky twang to the aromas that I can’t figure out... I saw \"musty\" below, and this is as close as I can figure. Flavor and mouthfeel are fairly German: starts off with a very grainy malt body and ends with a fairly dusty mouthfeel. Body is of really middle of the road malt (in terms of light versus dark)... There’s also a bit of a nut character to the taste... Not overly complex and not really interesting, but I kind of like it.

Bottle/swingtop. (re-rate purchased in Germany). Brown sugar and barley malt aroma. Medium brown color with nice head. Brown sugar/toffee and barley malt flavor with a moderate grassy hops/slightly metallic finish. Way better fresh (US purchase) Sour malt and molasses aroma. Medium brown with minimal head. Molasses malt flavor. This bottle was a bit past its prime but still nice especially given the rarity of this style in the states - had some dunkelbier characteristics. (6/3/6/3-12).

Bügelverschlußflasche: Deep golden to light amber coloured, big fluffy, slowly diminishing off-white head, sweet-malty, a bit caramelly, a bit toasted nose with a hoppy touch; mild sweet-bitter flavour, soft MF; lingering sweet-bitter finish. A clean and pleasant, well balanced Kellerbier.

(swing top bottle) Clear, amber colour with a fluffy, rather non-persistent foamy white head, leaving little lace. Slightly sweet and ashy toast-malty aroma with stinging nettles, a touch of caramel and spicy hops. Light-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Toast-malty taste with caramel and spicy notes; slightly bitter and herbal hoppy finish. Average.
