Cask at JDW Spoons, Eastbourne. Easy drinking bitter that hid its strength rather well. Didn't seem to punch in any direction. Not many notes of IPA, even for English style.

16/6/2022. Cask at the 30th East Anglian Beer & Cider Festival, Bury St Edmunds. Pours clear dark amber with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma is malty, hoppy, toffee, biscuit, golden syrup, stewed fruits. Mediums wetness, bitterness and body. Oily and sticky mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Some dryness to finish, tangy and bittersweet. Scored well compared to most other Marstons I’ve had.

Cask at Moon under Water, Wolverhampton Pours a golden orange with a good white head and good lacing. Is slow to settle. Nose is a mix of biscuits and malts. In the mouth it is predominantly oranges with some flowery hops, peel and just a hitn of “Burton snatch” (sulphur). Finish is bitter but restrained. This is a top notch Enlish style IPA, and very drinkable. One of my favourite Marston beers.
