Sample at the brewpub as part of Ohio Brew Week on 07/18/2025. Dark mahogany pour with a medium thin light beige head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Small patches of lace. Caramel malt, bourbon, dark fruit and hops in the nose. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, raisin, vanilla and caramel malt. The finish is oaky and boozy with a bourbon and malt aftertaste. Good Barley Wine all around.

Bottle shared at the CBJ BIG BOOSTY XMAS tasting, thanks to Juan 2, 3, 13/12/23. Black topped with a khaki head. Nose is chocolate, caramel, spice, dried fruit esters, nutty tones. Taste comprises fruit cake, bourbon bite, spice, charr, mellow roast, toffee melt. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid kit.

Bottle at home shared with Laura. Unclear dark brown to black color, virtually no head. Aroma is malts, lightly hoppy, raisins, brown malts, bourbon. Flavor is similar: malts, brown malts, raisins, bourbon. Thick texture, full body, decent to medium carbonation. Quite nice indeed.

Bottle shared at Craft Beer Junction - many thanks to Zach. Pours clear deep brown with a creamy, light tan head. Super sweet, big malt character, toasted toffee, dates, figs, booze. Full bodied, oily and with fine body. Warming and sticky finish. Not bad.
