This rich Baltic-Style Porter has a complex malt profile with hints of toasted bread, caramel, and mild smokiness. Naturally carbonated with maple syrup and lagered on sugar-maple wood spirals, this beer will keep you warm during the cold winter months.

Aromas are dark malt, smoke, roast and some molasses. Flavors are somewhat similar to nose with good balance between sweet, bitter and carbonation. More like a scotch ale with the peat.

Pour is a dark black with a large foamy tan head. Aroma is caramel and maple syrup sweetness. Flavor is brown sugar with maple syrup and some wood smoke. This sucker is super sweet, like way too sweet. You would accept some sweetness with maple syrup used but this is like morning pancakes. No real porter aspects to this. This beer is all about the sugar.

Can from Bine & Vine. Pours black with a large foamy/creamy beige/tan head. Aroma of toasted malt with some smokiness notes. Might be full bodied. Flavor is sweet toasted malt with definite smoke. This is not sticky stuff. But it is not at all dry. Arguably bitter, but there's enough smoke to cover that. For me the maple is very subtle. Took awhile to parse it out. Then it became quite prominent. This is really great lager. I think the folks in Bitburgh would be proud to have done it. Highly recommended.
